Dice Poker Game Rules & How to Play

These rules aren't set in stone - mix it up, throw in some booze or other fun substances, tweak the rules, go with the flow, whatever floats your boat!

The object of the game is for a player or team of players to line up five chips in a row on the board to form a “run”. The first player or team to create two runs wins!

 2 players/teams - 50 chips each • 3 players/teams - 35 chips each

Player begins their turn by rolling all 5 dice. the combo of the dice facing up is to be read like a poker hand:

  • Full House
  • Straight
  • Five of a Kind
  • Four of a Kind
  • Three of a Kind
  • Two Pairs
  • One Pair  

Player may throw the dice up to three times to roll the best possible combo. 2nd & 3rd rolls you can roll 1 to 5 of the dice, including re-rolling dice set aside in 1st roll.

Place a chip on the square that corresponds to the combo of dice you want to score & end turn.
If the squares are already covered by a chip, chip cannot be played & turn is over. Note: there are 2 of each "straight"

You may use any 1 of the chips from your 1st run as part of your second.

  • Free - can be used by all players as part of a run, but cannot be claimed by any 1 player.
  • Lucky 7 - a combo of 5 dice where all face values add up to 7 - player has the option to place a chip on either lucky 7 or whatever other combo appears on the dice.
  • Lucky 11 - a combo of 5 dice where all face values add up to 11 - player has the option to place a chip on either lucky 11 or whatever other combo appears on the dice.
  • 5 of a kind - Wild! player may place chip on any open square.
  • Straight - dice combo of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
  • Full house - pair & three of a kind ex 2, 2, 5, 5, 5
  • Bouncer - after all the "straight" squares are filled, whenever another straight is rolled, an opponent's chip may be remove. Note: you cannot remove a chip that is part of a completed run of 5 chips.
