Sequence Game Rules & How to Play

These rules aren't set in stone - mix it up, throw in some booze or other fun substances, tweak the rules, go with the flow, whatever floats your boat!

The object of the game is to make a connected series of five chips in any direction

Played with two decks of cards (jokers removed) • all 4 corners are wild & can be used by all players simultaneously as part of a run.

2 players/teams: 50 chips each • must score two sequences before their opponents

3 players/teams: 35 chips each • must score one sequence before their opponents

 • 2 players - 7 cards each • 3 - 4 players - 6 cards each • 6 players - 5 cards each
• 8 - 9 players - 4 cards each • 10 - 12 players - 3 cards each •

Each player selects a card of their choice from their hand, places it face up on their discard pile, then places one of their chips on the matching card on the board. Each card is pictured twice on the board, except jacks. Once a chip has been played, it cannot be removed by an opponent except when using a one-eyed jack.

When the draw deck becomes depleted, all discard piles are shuffled together to create a new draw deck.

You may use any one of the spaces from your first sequence as part of your second.

  • Two Eyed Jacks - Wild - place jack on your discard pile & place one of your chips on any open space on the board.
  • One Eyed Jacks - Remove - place jack on your discard pile & remove one chip from the board. This completes your turn, you cannot place one of your chips on that same space during this turn. You cannot remove a chip that is already part of a completed sequence.
  • Dead Card - if your card does not have an open space on the board you may turn it in for a new card & proceed to play your normal turn.
  • Lost Card - once you have taken your turn & placed your chip on the board, you must take a card from the draw deck. if you fail to take a card before the next player makes a move, you lose the card for the game.
